How To Upload Pictures Or Other Files To My Remote Server

Prerequisites:

The following tutorial assumes you are using the hosting services I provide (Control Panel). If not, the instructions may not work exactly as descibed. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in any of my website services.

UPLOADING TO A REMOTE SERVER SPACE:

1. If you have only one or two items to upload, you may want to do this right through the use of your Control Panel. For more help with this process, please click the Support link once logged into your Control Panel and post your question.
2. If you have several items to upload, you will want to use an FTP (file transfer protocol) software, such as Filezilla, to save time. You can download Filezilla for FREE. Once installed, run the program, click File, choose Site Manager, choose an existing site or click New Site (host = your site name; logon type = Ask for password), click Connect, type in your site login (same as the Control Panel login), click OK. The left side of the screen will emulate your local computer while the right side of the screen will emulate your remote server space. The second level "www" represents the public folder. BE VERY CAREFUL MAKING ANY CHANGES TO THE REMOTE SERVER AS THEY COULD BE DAMAGING TO YOUR SITE. When in doubt, don't.
3. Simply drag and drop from your local computer to your server space.
